Martin Christ founded a company in Osterade, Germany, in 1946, and launched his first centrifuge in the market by 1952. By 1967, Christ had become a world's leading company in the centrifuge sector. This year, Martin Christ merged the centrifuge business with a division of Heraeus, promoting opportunities for further expansion. In 1975, Martin Christ founded a new company, Sigma Laborzentrifugen, marketing centrifuges under this name since then. This is a laboratory bench centrifuge, type UJ1, serial number 47994, made by Heraeus Christ in 1971.
